Dolores Wawrykiw

December 16, 1924 - February 9, 2021

Dolores Wawrykiw (nee Ciszewski) passed away peacefully in her sleep on the afternoon of February 9, 2021. She was 96 years old. Dolores was born on December 16, 1924 to Anthony and Martha (Kontowski) Ciszewski, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In her youth she worked at Louis Allis in Milwaukee, and loved to go dancing with her friends and cousins. Work is where she found her Love, Roman. In 1957, she married Roman Wawrykiw and had two children, Roman Wawrykiw and Sandra (Jeff) Duda. In 1969, her and Roman moved their family up to Armstrong Creek, Wisconsin and that’s where she spent the remainder of her long life. She was lucky at 96 to still be able to live in her home, thanks to her son Roman who provided her care until her last moments. She was always surrounded by her family who loved her, and she always enjoyed those moments. One thing she ALWAYS loved to do with her family is play 500 Rummy. Countless games of rummy have been played and she almost always won. So many laughs and memories were shared over her table playing rummy. Memories we’ll always have. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Martha and Anthony, husband Roman, sister, Eleanor Jarozewski and most of the rest of her family and friends. She leaves behind her son, Roman, and daughter, Sandy (Jeff), grandchildren Terra (Eric) Mueller, Roman Wawrykiw III, and Dan and Erica Duda. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom she was able to meet and share memories with; Lara, Cage, and Dane Mueller, Ryian, Mila, Roman (IV), and Mykolai Wawrykiw. She made a tremendous impact on all of us and will forever be in our hearts and memories. Honoring her wishes, no services will be held.
