Alice May Wilson

April 23, 1927 - December 29, 2019

Alice May (Bernacki) Wilson, born April 23, 1927, in Blackwell, WI, went to her eternal rest on Sunday evening, December 29, 2019, surrounded by family. She was 92 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Sophie Bernacki, her husband Herb, her son Robert, her sister Lorraine, daughter-in-law Karen DeLuca, and infant granddaughter Stephanie. She leaves behind her legacy of two daughters, Bonnie and Cindy. Bonnie (Bruce Schroeder) reside in Little Suamico. Cindy Wilson (Stacey Warnke) reside in Sobieski, WI. She also leaves a sister, Dorothy Baltus, who was by her side at Nu-Roc and a brother Ronald Bernacki (Peg). Alice had three grandchildren, Mike (SuAnn) Schroeder, Heather Schroeder (John) Powell, and Lindsay Wilson (Todd) Arquette. She had 8 great grandchildren whom she loved and adored. Alice married Herb Wilson on September 27, 1947 and they lived in Laona, WI. Together they raised their family instilling a strong work ethic, their faith in God, time for simple fun after your work was done, and lots and lots of love. Alice worked at Connor’s store for many years. After Herb’s death in 1991, not being one to ever sit down long, Alice went to work at the Camp 5 Lumberjack Special Cracker Barrel store. She will be forever missed for her quilting, baking, hand-knit morning slippers, her smile, her spunk, her love to shop for a bargain, and need to have the last word. Her heart was so big and she was so generous. May she rest comfortably at home in heaven forever reunited with her husband, Herb. Special thanks to the staff at NuRoc for her care over the last three years and comfort at the end. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am with service at 11:00 am on January 2, 2020, at St. Leonard Church in Laona. Burial to follow at Laona Cemetery.
