Marilyn Joyce Lotto Petersen, 76, most recently of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; beloved wife, mother, sister, mother in law, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 8 after suffering from Parkinsons’ Disease.
She was born, January 7, 1934 in Langlade, Wisconsin, and lived briefly in Dunbar and Wausaukee before moving to Goodman. She attended and graduated from Goodman High School in 1952, before working in Milwaukee at Northwestern Mutual. She married James A. Petersen on September 10, 1954, in Charleston, South Carolina, where they lived for 2 years.
She lived in White Bear Lake, Minnesota for nearly 30 years, where she raised a family and was an active parishioner at St Pius X Catholic Church. She was a member and president of the Church’s women’s guild in the 1970s and ‘80s; volunteered with the White Bear Lake area Republican Party; and served as an Election Judge for many years.
She moved back to the Goodman - Armstrong Creek area in 1990 when her husband retired, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her mother, and sisters and brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Mary, and a grandson, Daniel Teichroew. She is survived by her husband; daughter Nancy Kurzweg (Steve), daughter Lisa Teichroew (Bruce), son William (Lisa), daughter Laura Mortenson (Gary), 10 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; sisters Joanne Thomas (Pat), LaVerne Kowalkowski (Bernard) and Linda Majewski (David), brothers Roger, Bob and Larry (Marlene), and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 13, at Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Goodman; viewing at 10 a.m. Arrangements by Weber Hill Funeral Home, Crandon. Memorials preferred to Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Minnesota.
